Calcium - silicon
Calcium - silicon is produced in electric - arc furnaces by silicothermic method.
Application:
Calcium - silicon is a strong deoxidizer. It is used in the steel industry and foundry for desulphurization, spheroidyzation and alloy addition.
Packaging and transport:
Calcium - silicon is delivered in bulk or in big-bags by road or rail transport. The material must not come into contact with moisture . It should be stored in dry and properly ventilated storage facalities and must be kept unpacked until its utilisation.
