Each production line is equipped with a dedusting system. A product called "silimic" is produced from dust collected from FeSi production. The whole "silimic" product is sold, 50 % - in the export market. It is a valuable material used by the construction industry (an additive for concrete production) as well as the rubber and insulation industries.

Huta "Łaziska" SA has also mastered sewage-water management according to all standards.

Post-war history of the company is a period of expansion, modernisation and implementation of automated processes as well as capital-intensive environmental investments. Launching of new furnace plants, their modernisation, the construction and expansion of a new combustion gas dedusting plant were performed in that period.

The cumulating of environmental activities, which considerably improved labour conditions and reduced the company's effect upon the environment, took place at the turn of the eighties.

Among major investments completed at that time, from which the company has been benefiting up till now, were a water purification plant and a dedusting system for furnace plant II and III.

Some of the effects of those investments are high efficiency of post- reaction gases dedusting in ferroalloys production (over 99 %), industrial utilisation of dust collected and closed circuit of industrial water.

Environmental achievements of Huta "Łaziska" SA have been appreciated many times. For Huta "Łaziska" S.A. 's achievements of the turn of the eighties the company was awarded with the prestigious Cerificate of the More Environmentally Friendly Production Enterprise(1996).

The activities aimed at minimising the final crushing losses through separating saleable fractions from waste subgrain, minimising dust emissions into the atmosphere through more efficient dedusting, decrease in noise emissions, were appreciated in 2000 - Huta "Łaziska" S.A. became a laureate of The II Edition of the "Environmentally Friendly" Competition in a category "Environmentally Friendly Company" under the honourable patronate of the Polish President.

In the III Edition of the Competition - year 2001 - Huta "Łaziska" S.A. received an award for its achievements concerning the improvement of dedusting efficiency in technological processes.
